The dude is NICE with the lens, so we invited him out to capture the happenings of TRUE VINYL. As usual DJ R.C. jumped right into performance mode and began his musical journey for the evening with a classic jam off the Digable Planets Blowout Comb LP. Tonight we celebrate our 4th week of TRUE VINYL and it will be nothing short of Spectacular!
For TRUE VINYL Vol. 4 you can expect to hear the some of the classic and rare records that have become Tekila favorites as well as a special 90's Hip-Hop Set that pays tribute to both East and West Coast Underground/Crossover Hip Hop Producers and Emcees of the 1990's.

TRUE VINYL - 3 - (The TRUE Tuesday VINYL PARTY in Hollywood)
For the last week Rod has been digging up some of the rarest Salsa, Cumbia, Bossanova, Afro-beat, and Latin Funk LP's from some of the most unlikely places... He even came across some more Classic Hip-Hop 12"s to bless your ears with.

A Wedding From A DJ's Point if View
On June 11, 2011 Rod Chrolon provided outstanding DJ/MC Services as a one man show (per client request), for the C. & S. Lopez Wedding.
Rod arrived ahead of schedule as usual, and was shocked to see the hall had not been completed. Amongst other key points such as chair covers, the overhanging centerpiece over the center of the dancefloor was not completed until 20 after guests where supposed to enter the hall. But with a Host Bar and the best little bruschetta bites the glitch went unnoticed.
For the first time Rod could remember his set up and sound check was complete before the hall was finished. (Pause for Host Bar)
As you can see in the photos from the second the guests entered the room DJ R.C. captivated the audience with his diverse and familiar musical proramming experience.
As soon as we celebrated the formalities of the reception. DJ R.C. had the dancefloor packed all night long. The host bar must have put energy in the drinks cause Rod had this crowd on their feet for two and a half hours straight.
Rod wound the crowd down just before Midnight and ended the night with the Bride & Grooms request Copa Cabana.
The eighty dollar tip from the groom was proof that Rod not only pleased the crowd, he played new music and introduced them to his skills on the turntables and as an MC.

Samp-Le-Delic is concept and idea that Rod Chrolon has been playing out over the last 11 years of his DJ career. DJRC has been collecting vinyl records since 1989 at the age of 7, when he was given his Uncle's Disco, Freestyle, Rap & Funk Record Collection. After exposure to The Beat Junkie Crew and their pre-Serato Hip-Hop Shows. Where Rod witnessed and was living out the most influential time of his Professional DJ Career. Seeing the crowd react to music, was a satisfaction that Rod had to have.
Soon after picking up his first set of turntables in 1999, Rod made it a point to open his mind to all walks of music and research and seek out all the Original Music that was being sampled in the records he was hearing. A regular customer of Aron's Record's - Hollywood, CA - Record Surplus - West Hollywood, CA - Amoeba Music - Hollywood, CA - Fat Beats - Los Feliz & Melrose, CA - Norwalk Records - Norwalk, CA, Pennylane - So. Cal, Groove Stop - Whittier, CA - Stacks Vinyl - Cerritos, CA where DJRC spent sometimes three to four days a week, often spending eight hours or more digging through the dusty record bins to find the musical gems that where tickling his ear-drums. Collecting Vinyl is an undying passion that runs through Rod's blood like the needle through the groove or the bass through your woofer.
So the next DJ you see hiding behind a laptop, ask them how many Records they own. If he/she says more than forty crates then maybe, just maybe Rod may give them the time of day.
